- Heavy Precipitation: It refers to heavy rainfall or snowfall experienced in a location which substantially exceeds the normal levels. In many locations, heavy downpours have become more common.
- Sea-Level Rise: Due to the melting glaciers and ice sheets the sea level is continuously rising. Warming of seas and oceans is making coastal storms and hurricanes more destructive.
- Threats to animals and habitats: Due to the warming temperatures, many plants and animals are migrating away from the equator or to the higher elevations. Some animals may face difficulty in moving or adapting to new habitats.
- Drought: The risk of drought is increasing in some areas because of global warming. Population growth is leading to higher water demands. The higher temperatures is leading to more evaporation, stressing the water supplies developed in many regions.
- Wildfires: Wildfires are large fires which burn a huge amount of forests and brush. It can be deadly because it is uncontrollable and it can destroy homes as well.
- Ocean Acidification: The ongoing decrease in the pH level of our oceans caused by the uptake of carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere. This is making life difficult for corals and microorganisms which are forming shells to survive, disrupting the food supply chain for other sea animals.
