Michael Palin Facts
Michael Palin is a household name around the world. He is generally described as ‘Britain’s nicest man’. He was born on May 5, 1943, in Broom Hill, Sheffield. Palin is a man of multiple trades: – actor, comedian, presenter, writer and political campaigner. He also traveled from the North Pole to the South Pole for a travel program called Pole to Pole in 1992. Michael Paling formed a comedy writing team when he was attending the University of Oxford, Brasenose College with Terry Jones. He was also hired to write for a BBC sketch comedy show called the Frost Report along with Terry Jones.

- His father suffered a severe stammer all his life. It inspired his stammering character in a film he did in 1988.
- He also advocates The Michael Palin Centre for Stammering Children in Islington. This center was opened in 1993.
- Palin Received BAFTA Film Awards in 1989 for Best Actor in a supporting role in ‘A Fish called Wanda’.
