Guggenheim Museum is a modern and contemporary art museum located in Bilbao, Basque Country, Spain. It was inaugurated on October 18, 1997, by former King Juan Carlos I of Spain. This complex consists of interconnected buildings. It was designed by Los Angeles-based architect Frank O. Gehry.
The museum is built alongside the Nervion River that runs through the city of Bilbao to the Cantabrian Sea. It belongs to the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation which has many other museums.
