An optical illusion is also known as a visual illusion. It shows images that are somewhat different from the existing reality. It is a way of tricking the brain to see something that actually does not exist in reality like seeing curved line when they are actually straight or movement in an object when it is standing still. It all works on the properties of the visual areas of the human brain as they receive and process information. Each and everything entering our senses gets interpreted through the brain.
