Boa constrictors are possibly the world’s most beautiful snakes. They come in many colors, including tan, pink, red, green or yellow, and their skins are often marked with intricate patterns. In the wild, boa constrictors live in Central and South America. They prefer rainforests and wooded areas because they live in old logs or burrows.

Boa constrictors can swim, but they usually stay on land. They live a long time and can grow to be 18 feet long. Boa constrictors, like all snakes, are carnivorous. They eat almost any animal they can catch, including rats, mice, deer and even wild pigs. Boa constrictors kill their prey by squeezing it to death. That’s a hug you don’t want to experience!
