  • Marie Curie: – Marie Curie was a Polish physicist and chemist. She was the first woman to win a Noble prize and the first person ever to win it in two different fields. She was born on November 7, 1867, in Warsaw, Poland. She received the Noble Prize together with her husband Pierre Curie for their study of spontaneous radiation. Marie died on July 4, 1934, in Savoy, France after a short illness.
  • Alan Turing: – Alan Turing was an English scientist and mathematician who proved that a universal algorithmic method of determining truth in math cannot exist. He was born on June 23, 1912, in London, United Kingdom. He introduced the concept of Turing Machine that later became the foundation of the modern theory of computation and computability. He died on June 7, 1954, in Wilmslow, England.
  • Niels Bohr: – Niels Bohr was born on October 7, 1885, in Copenhagen, Denmark. He studied astronomy, mathematics, chemistry and majored in physics. In 193, he published his model of the atomic structure which introduced the theory of electrons traveling in orbits around the atom’s nucleus. In 1922, he was awarded the Noble Prize in physics. Niels Bohr died in the year of 1962.
  • Max Planck: – Max Planck was born on April 23, 1858, in Kiel, Germany. He is best known for his discoveries of energy quanta. He was also awarded Noble Prize in physics in the year of 1918 for the same. He died on October 4, 1947, in Lower Saxony, Germany.
  • Charles Darwin: – Charles Darwin was an English naturalist who introduced the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection. He was born on February 12, 1809, in Shropshire, England. He suggested that animals and humans share a common ancestry. He died of a heart attack on April 19, 1882, at the age of 73 years.
  • Leonardo Da Vinci: – Leonardo Da Vinci was a true polymath and his area of interests included invention, painting, science, architecture, sculpting, mathematics, astronomy etc. He was born on April 15, 1452. Mona Lisa is one of his famous works. He died on May 2, 1519, at the age of 67 years.
  • Galileo Galilei: – Galileo Galilei was an Italian astronomer, mathematician, and physicist. He was born on February 15, 1564, in Pisa, Italy. He made fundamental contributions in various fields. He died on January 8, 1642.
  • Nikola Tesla: – Nikola Tesla is best known for his contributions to the development of the alternating current electrical systems. He was born on July 10, 1856. His most important invention is Tesla Coil that is still used in radio technology today. Tesla died on January 7, 1943.
  • Albert Einstein: – Albert Einstein was one of the most influential scientists of the 20th He developed the theory of relativity. In 1921, he was awarded the Noble Prize in Physics for the evolution of Quantum Theory. He died on April 18, 1955.
  • Isaac Newton: – Isaac Newton was born on January 4, 1643, in Lincolnshire, England. He is known for his various discoveries in optics, motion, and mathematics. He is credited with the development of essential theories of calculus. In 1668, he also constructed a reflecting telescope. Newton died on March 20, 1727.
